So I've been seriously thinking of renaming this little blog. But to what?! I need to have a serious brain storm session on a huge whiteboard. You know, the style that publisists do when coming up with a book title, like in "Julia & Julia" when the publisist was helping Julia Childs come up with her "Mastering the Art of French Cooking" cookbook? (Yes, I own it!) Anyway, I receive a lot of submissions of vintage and DIY weddings, which I adore, and wonder just what angle to rename the blog to, to fit this style of photography I share quite often. Or, shall I just leave the name alone?
While I ponder on that a bit more, I am very excited to share with my savvy little readers this charming wedding with you today, featuring Katya Nova Photography! I am swooning over much of this Edmonton (Alberta, Canada) wedding!
Here's a little note that Katya included in her submission:The ‘traveling trunk’ of antique furniture and the breathtaking reception decor was all Megan's creation. So was pursuing Cam! Meg and Cam don’t sweat the small stuff, but pay attention to the little things, the little things that emanate love and make life worth living. I love how Cam cares about the world at large, about the environment. I love how selfless and light-hearted Megan is, Cam's extraordinary grounding force and muse. They are both lawyers living in Edmonton, AB.
Let's get to it then! I present to you Katya Nova Photography!
Such a beautiful wedding, with a gorgeous couple to boot! I honestly don't know which is my fave of this wedding, the details are charming, the photographer's vision is stunning, every inch from pre-aisle to the reception is just fabulous!
I do love the bridesmaid dresses, so colorful and vintage in design. The colors work beautifully, especially with the bouquets. Speaking of bouquets, gotta love the "something blue" brooch in the bride's bouquet, after my own heart!
The groomsmen shots are so fun & unique, especially at the open air market and joining that street band!
I'm loving the reception decor, it does inspire great ideas to include various vintage elements, like the old fashioned typewriter, bird cages, old books, even the sweet pair of birds atop the cake! I love the button table numbers and escort cards too, so cute and easy to do!
Many thanks to Katya Nova Photography for submitting such a beautiful wedding for us to feature! And a huge congrats to Megan & Cam on their recent nuptials! Megan did a fabulous job creating the style of her reception!
