{Trash The Dress} American Gothic Inspired

Who doesn't love a little nod to that iconic piece of artwork from the 1930's, American Gothic by Grant Wood?  We've seen so many renditions of this piece, and today we are excited that a couple chose to have their own rendition created for a Trash The Dress session!

Brittany Putnam Photography shared this fun shoot with us today, and this little tid bit about this fun loving couple:
Mindy & Ryan chose to do their trash the dress session a week after their honeymoon. When I first introduced them, the one shot they really wanted to nail was recreating the infamous "American Gothic" painting while wearing their wedding attire. Mindy is reupholstering a vintage chair with her wedding dress once it comes back from the cleaners. This is a great idea for refreshing old furniture with the added keepsake of knowing it was once the wedding dress.

I love Mindy's idea of reupholstering a piece of furniture with her wedding gown! I'd love to see that when it is completed!

Introducing this cute shoot from Brittany Putnam Photography!

Such a fun and carefree shoot! I love the shots in the field, with the single chair in the middle of nowhere.  I also like the use of the graffitied wall in the background of some of the shots, it always makes for great contrast of formal wedding clothes with an edgy urban scene.

Many thanks to Brittany Putnam Photography for submitting this great shoot!
