When Hilary Cam Photography submitted this couple's engagement shoot to be featured on the blog, I was immediately drawn in by Alison & Ryan's colorful vibe, and the vintage appeal of the shoot. Not to mention that this is a tea party styled shoot-who doesn't love a tea party?!? I adore tea parties!! I'm smitten over the tea and all the sweets seen here, served up in antiquated tea pots, plates and cake stands. I'm also loving the retro attire chosen by the couple, and Alison's amazing vintage inspired hairstyle!
Hilary had this to share of Alison & Ryan's fun loving shoot:For Alison & Ryan it was always going to be a tongue-in-cheek theme to their couple shoot. We decided we would setup a tea party in a picturesque garden. As you can guess the cheekiness gets the better of them and high tea descends into all out war – with cakes, cream-puffs and jelly beans used as culinary missiles in a classic food fight! There were no vendors other then myself, the fairy bread was made by Alison and the remaining cakes and candy and flowers were picked up from our local Coles supermarket and styled by my assistant/girlfriend/stylist Nicola. The plates and some of the floral tea pots were purchased at Victoria's Basement but the majority of tea cups and plates were vintage numbers picked up at op shops and second hand shops. Paper Lanterns, cup cake wrappers and cup cake toppers, wooden birds and clocks from Typo. Alison did her own hair and makeup, dress was vintage.
Behold the "cheekiness" of Alison & Ryan's Tea Party shoot, captured beautifully by Hilary Cam Photography:
What fun!! Love how the shoot starts out so proper, like a high tea kind of proper, and ends in the pair having an all out food war! This isn't the first time we've seen cake smashed in other's faces in some styled shoots we've shared-we love it! What a way to wrap up a shoot. Sure looks like Alison & Ryan had so much fun with their shoot!
So many thanks to Hilary Cam Photography for submitting to us another great shoot to feature!
