{Real Weddings} Alyson & Luke's Summery Backyard Wedding

Sweet, simple & green is the theme of today's beautiful backyard wedding, submitted to us via Two Bright Lights from Travis Lawton Photography.  I'm in love with this color palette of green, yellow and white-it's so basic, but it is portrayed so elegantly!

Travis, the photog, shared with us a little bit about Alyson & Luke's big day:
I first met Luke and Alyson at a little coffee shop up on Seattle’s Queen Anne Hill. After talking for just a couple of minutes, I could tell how much in love these two were. One of the biggest tells for me is when the groom-to-be is interested in everything wedding related we talk about. Everything! He knows how special this day is for his future wife and wants to do everything in his power to help it be perfect. This is what Luke was doing. Our lenses had something interesting to point at at all times. From Alyson’s amazing green shoes, beautiful quite and intimate portraits in the woods, emotional tears during the ceremony (for Alyson AND Luke), a pretty awesome mother son dance, some epic live music at night featuring Luke on trumpet, all the way up to the bubble filled exit. And the location was to die for; Luke’s parent’s house with a giant front yard for the ceremony and big backyard for the reception. I think one of my favorite parts though was the deserted field with waist-high grass and plants just behind their backyard.

Aww, what a sweet story to set up this very sweet day.  Behold Alyson & Luke's wedding, captured by Travis Lawton Photography:

I told you this was sweet!  I am loving the root beer & ginger ale favors, so clever the way they are personalized! As well the "Let Love Brew" coffee, perfect for the Washington location.  I'd love to receive those favors at a wedding for sure!

The bridesmaid dresses-I LOVE!  They are not your typical bridesmaid dresses, purchased at stores like ModCloth and Torrid, and it works with the relaxed backyard setting.  Love the groomsmen wearing green ties, and the groom wearing a light beige suit, a common trend we've seen a lot of over the summer.

Everything seen here is just heartwarming.  The image of the two wiping their tears away made me have a tear or two, so darling.  By the way, I don't know where that sweet sleeping puppy came from, but I had to include him, it adds to the adorableness of Alyson & Luke's wedding!

Many thanks to Travis Lawton Photography for the submission!

  1. I love bridesmaid dresses from Torrid. As a plus size woman, I'm big fan of Torrid but they are little bit expensive so I use Torrid coupon codes to get discount. You have shared some great photos of wedding. Keep it up.
