We have a sweet wedding to share with you today, with a very thoughtful and loving couple. When Michelle Zahn Photography submitted Gretchen & Philip's beautiful wedding, I was enamored with all of the special touches. Then I was amazed when Michelle shared the couple made sure there were shawls for people to warm themselves up with if they got cold, and they also offered up gluten free and vegan options for those that requested.
Michelle shares more about Gretchen & Philip's beautiful wedding here:Gretchen & Philip were introduced by some friends now dubbed "The Matchmakers" on a blind date. On her 35th birthday, Philip popped the question to Gretchen and they were married months later. Their wedding ceremony was held at the Frederick Historical Society with a reception following at The Visitation Academy - both landmark historic sites in Frederick, MD. Gretchen & Philip thought of every last detail with regards to decorations and their guests needs. The menu was planned to accommodate all sorts of dietary needs - from vegan to gluten free. Shawls were provided for guests in case they got cold, and favors were the famed Frederick, MD McCutcheon's jams - personalized for the couple. Gretchen's dress was handmade by a friend using lace from her mother's wedding gown, the lace that adorned the wrought iron gates of both the Visitation Academy and the Historical society was that of her grandmother who had recently passed away. Philip and his groomsmen wore High Cotton Ties to the event, as well as the fathers. Cornhole and Horseshoes provided entertainment at the casual, relaxed outdoor reception. Three cakes were offered up to the guests - a traditional tiered wedding cake, a vegan "bacon" cake, and a gluten-free cheesecake.
What a sweet couple that truly thought of everything, and thought of everyone. Behold their sweet day, beautifully captured by Michelle Zahn Photography:
Love every detail! The pops of color throughout are really fun and charming, as seen in the decor and the cute little flags. I do love the fact that Gretchen's dress incorporated lace from her mother's own gown, such a sweet sentiment.
I also love the fact that they chose favors that reflect the area they wed in. Those little personalized jars of jam are such a sweet favor for people to take home. And let's talk about having a vegan "bacon" cake at a wedding, for vegan guests! That is awesome, and so completely thoughtful.
Many thanks to Michelle Zahn Photography for submitting another gorgeous wedding to us!
