It's Saturday! Yippee! What are you doing today? Hope you are relaxing and staying warm. My hubby and I are going to celebrate Valentine's Day tonight-yay, a date night! Our baby girl will be at her grandparents, giving us a much needed break, and chance to sleep! It's been far too long. We sure don't get as much help as I thought we would, but we'll take any break we can!
Now, onto all things weddings... We have such a lovely wedding to share with you today, submitted by Heather Smith Photography. As you soon shall see, the vibe is vintage, circa 1930 possibly, and the decor details are glorious! So many unique touches were included, which makes this wedding stand out.
Heather describes a bit about Emily & Allan, and their amazing wedding:Allan, Emily and... Amalia (Allan's Daughter) had so been excited for this special day to arrive. Nothing was better then to see the anticipation of this day on all their faces as each part of the set up and details fell into place. One of my favorite moments was when Emily was surprised by Bob from Yuba City Florist with her bouquet of flowers that included the peony flower which were out of season and difficult to come across. This wedding had so much thought and many details put into this day from Theresa (mother of the groom AND a very special and close friend of myself and my family), Bob (Yuba City Florist), Emily, family & friends. The Citizen Hotel was the perfect place for this vintage wedding to take place and for Allan & Emily to share their special day with family & friends. It was love at first sight for Allan and Emily and after waiting six years nothing could make them happier then to share their love as with friends and family and finally take the next step as a married couple.
Without further ado, I present to you Emily & Allan's Citizen Hotel Wedding, beautifully captured by Heather Smith Photography:
What a lovely couple! Emily & Allan look timeless in some of the black and white photos, like you can't tell when the photo was taken, which I L.O.V.E.! Emily's lacy gown, and birdcage veil, with her side bun updo makes her the essence of a 1930's bride. Allan's suit, and his shoes-he totally rocks that look! He's got that Adrian Brody way about him, whom also has that timeless look.
The decor...I cannot get enough of it! The handkerchief and ribbon garland is my favorite part! How clever, sweet, and delicate. It's hard to tell in the one image, but there were also stems of white roses interwoven in the ribbons hanging from the ceiling! So imaginative. I love the use of buttons to form the table numbers, that is just what I love to see. This same decor can easily work for a bridal shower, or even a baby shower.
The other touches I love is the set up for the guestbook, with that old vintage travel theme. The use of the vintage calendar for guests to sign their names on their birth dates-excellent idea!
And, did you notice the quote at the candy buffet?! Any guesses? It is a quote from one of my favorite songs by Dave Matthews Band! It's lyrics in Two Step! Another brilliant little thoughtful touch to incorporate in your wedding-use song lyrics, movie quotes, snippets from novels that you both love. Not all will get it, but those that do will swoon over things like that!
Many thanks to Heather Smith Photography for this beautiful submission!
