{Real Weddings} Katie & Chris's South Seas Island Resort Wedding

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had an amazing weekend! We are so thrilled to be sharing with you our very first post since the blog has been redesigned by the amazing team at A Geek and His Designer!!  What do you all think?  We're pretty excited, pleased, happy, all the above! The makeover was 2 years in the making on my part, having done all the "designing" on my own, which was nothing more than finding who had free headers to use, learning html code etc.  I finally decided to let a professional help me out, called the request out on Facebook I was looking for blog help, and Sheena (whom I have actually featured a wedding she photographed last summer) sent me an email about her company A Geek and His Designer! These amazing connections made possible by Two Bright Lights leads to other things down the road.  It's great! So, a special thanks goes out to Sheena & her team. This wedding blogger is happy, and has a tear of joy!

As it is Monday, and the first post on the newly refurbished blog, we are excited to feature a beautiful wedding, submitted to us by a friend of the blog, Tonya Malay Photography! I love the beach theme, and the sea foam greenish blue, pink and ivory color palette!

Tonya shared with us a little bit about Katie & Chris's destination wedding:
Katie is a school teacher and Chris is an air force pilot currently serving our country! Katie and Chris are from New London, NH and had their destination wedding at South Seas Island Resort on Captiva Island, Florida. Their catering director, John Blaharski, did a wonderful job tying together the details for Chris and Katie's wedding day. Their friend, Paul Little, traveled from NH to perform their personal and touching ceremony. Vanderbilt Strings provided ceremony music, and Libby's Flower Shop did the beautiful floral bouquets and centerpieces. Kakes by Karen, who has been featured on the Food Network, created their lovely wedding cake. DJ Dan Confrey provided reception music as well as a fun laser light show for the dance floor. Chris and Katie had so much personality, and their friends were adorable and so much fun to photograph! The sunset was just stunning, and we ended the night with sparkler writing which was a blast.

Behold Katie & Chris's South Seas Island Resort Wedding, beautifully captured by the amazing Tonya Malay Photography:

I LOVE the sparkler writing! So much fun! Katie & Chris looked like they had such a blast at their wedding, which is so important, and Tonya Malay Photography captured their joy so well.

I love all the seashell and starfish detailing, it is done simply, yet stands out elegantly.  The starfish "pew bows" are a cute touch.  I so love Katie's long sheer veil, and how it looks when the wind swoops it up! My favorite images are of the two at sunset on the beach.  It is so romantic!

Many thanks to Tonya Malay Photography for submitting to us your gorgeous work!
