{Real Weddings} Nicola & Matt's Perfect Parisian Inspired Wedding

Today we are over the moon to share this beautiful couple's elegant spring wedding with you, sent over by Charlene Morton Photography.  The wedding features everything we heart, including lovely hues of light blue, peach and blush, ladies wearing hats, a Rolls Royce, and a Parisian reception in a glorious tent. The event takes place at a picturesque setting in Wales, UK, and is just so pretty.  It's definitely a treat for the eyes.

We even have a little Q&A from the bride, describing the details that went into this magical day.  Find out what she has to say at the end of the images.

Please enjoy Nicola & Matt's Perfect Parisian Inspired Wedding, captured beautifully by Charlene Morton Photography:

Please tell us a brief bit about yourselves, & a brief bio of your relationship:
- We met back at university and we were friends for a while before we became a couple. I'm originally from South Wales and Matt is from North London. We both live in London now and have been together for 11 years.

What was your overall theme, look & feel as well as any special touches for the wedding?
- We got engaged in Paris on the Pont Des Arts bridge, so we decided to have a vintage Paris theme. Matt proposed with an engraved lock saying Will You Marry Me? Of course I said yes at once and put the pad lock on the bridge and kept the key, so we had keys tied to cards for the name places.

We had an accordion player during the post ceremony drinks to give a little Parisian vibe and we downloaded a café jazz album to play during the wedding breakfast. We also had a French inspired menu.

As it was a spring wedding we decided on a mixture of pastel shades for the flowers and overall look and feel. We added little French inspired touches like macaroons for favours, a Paris suitcase and scattered pearls for an added vintage look. As a guest book alternative my dad made us a French post box and we collected vintage French postcards so that people could write and post us their message.

Why did you choose the location that you did for your wedding?
- Not only for the beautiful countryside surroundings but also for the exclusivity of the hotel. We loved the fact that church we were married in was in the grounds of the hotel, so our guests didn’t need to drive to a separate venue.

When you look back on your wedding, what was your most favorite moment?
- When the sun came out and everybody was mingling on the lawn outside the beautiful house, it was just how we pictured it. Although the entire day was perfect for us.
What a beautiful day for these two!  You know we love the Parisian theme.  I love how the keys signified their pad lock on the Pont des Arts.  I also love the table numbers were points of great significance throughout Paris.

I couldn't resist including the candids and fun shots that Charlene captured, like the boy under the table, the gent wearing a lady's hat, the couple with the drawn on mustaches, it shows that people were really enjoying themselves at their loved ones wedding.  There are many more of those images that I didn't include-I should create a post just for those alone!

I just want to point out the ladies wearing hats...I feel that Americans need to start wearing those to weddings! How fabulous they look! I don't think it is a trend that will kick off here, but I'll ask my friend who's marrying an Englishman to have that be a requirement at their wedding next year.  I'm the MOH & have involvement in the planning, so I'll see that happens... (Insert my twinkling wink here)
