{Real Weddings} Amanda & Jeff's Whimsical DIY Garden Wedding

As we're nearing the end of the summer wedding season, we have a delightful summertime wedding to share with you, that was submitted to us by Tanis Katie Photography.  In our humble opinion, nothing gives off a sweeter outdoor summer wedding vibe more than a bounty of fresh picked wildflowers, charming diy decor (burlap) details, and a bride wearing flip flops.  Plus the location of the venue is idyllic for a summer wedding, which happens to be in British Columbia.

Here are some details about this beautiful summertime wedding from the bride:
Our wedding plans started out as being big and elaborate but it turned out to be quite simple with a lot of DIY touches. We knew of a beautiful property in West Abbotsford and secured that first for our ceremony and reception. We used an engagement photo and ordered it on the face of simple postcards for our invitations at vistaprint.ca. I found my dress at Champagne And Lace in Abbotsford and found some awesome fuchsia sandals at the Gap that allowed me to dance the night away! I ordered custom clutches from Monica Jones who owns Babbs Boutiques (on Etsy) for myself, my mom and all 5 bridesmaids.

There was a lot of burlap and mason jars in the decor and we brought a load of jars to a local florist and had her fill them with an array of colourful wildflowers for our centerpieces and for down the aisle. She also did our bouquets in the same way, they turned out better than I imagined! It was a lot of work planning and decorating or own event but we had loads of help from friends and family and it turned out to be a lot of fun!

So fun and charming, wouldn't you say? Can you guess what I love? If you guessed the escort card display and the Polaroid guestbook, then you do know me! Attaching buttons to push pins that are holding sweet escort card "tags" is a super cute and clever idea! The little spot to take guests' photos, insert them in to pre-cut cards to leave wishes for the couple on, and then hang them by clothes pins is adorable! Great planning and executing to Amanda!

Our thanks to Tanis Katie Photography for this beautiful wedding you submitted our way!
