{Styled Shoot} Kentucky Derby Styled Wedding

We have a fabulous styled wedding shoot to share with you today that embraces elegant Southern hospitality at it's finest, with a splash of Kentucky Derby mixed in.  The feature comes to us from Très Chic Southern Weddings, who worked in collaboration with Limelight PhotographyBotanica International Design StudioDragonfly Custom DesignMalindy Elene Bridal, and The Sugar Suite to name a few.  The whole list of vendors is at the bottom of the feature.

A note from Whitney, the Event Planner at Très Chic Southern Weddings:
The inspiration was a southern Kentucky Derby style wedding. The Kentucky Derby is a quintessential southern event, complete with bright colors, bow ties, big hats and pies. We wanted to bring each of those fun details into the overall design.

Further details of the styling and concept are seen throughout the feature.  Please, won't you sit a spell, and enjoy this beautiful Kentucky Derby styled wedding, captured by Limelight Photography:

The ceremony is kept simple to appreciate the gorgeous oak tree with a beautiful white iron and crystal chandelier.

The escort card table features equestrian details such as a saddle, horseshoes, bits, prestigious equestrian awards, Hermes scarfs and more. We showcase the beautiful invitation and escort cards, which capture the essence of the Kentucky Derby. You can even catch a glimpse of a curious horse looking over.

What is more southern than Lemonade and Sweet Tea? That’s why you will find a sweet tea and lemonade stand for refreshments prior to the ceremony, complete with pink, green or blue striped paper straws and bows. The arrows on the sign are inspired by a jockey’s uniform.

The reception table is a farm table made from old barn wood, set with a navy and white striped runner, luscious floral, and bowtie napkins on mix & match vintage dishes. The place cards are designed as place ribbons. The napkins are tied as Bow Ties and the menu cards also feature bowties.

The dessert table showcases a lace detailed buttercream cake with a sugar peony and hydrangeas. You will also find Derby pies in Mason Jars, and raspberry, pistachio, and chocolate(blue) French Macarons. The bride and groom take a bite of mini pecan pies with “I do” and “me too” forks.

A Kentucky Derby wedding would not be complete without bourbon, mint juleps and bow ties. A bar is set on top of a barrel and oversized spools. We have a Mint Julep bar with bow ties around the cups and only the finest Single Barrel Kentucky Bourbon. Also at the bar, there are bow ties for boys and roses for girls in mix & match patterns to choose from.

Such great imagery and vision in this stunning styled shoot! I love the bold color palette of bright colors, and the continuing derby theme.  The lighting seen here on the house is gorgeous too.  Makes a great splash to end the night with.

Our thanks to Très Chic Southern Weddings, and all involved, for sharing this lovely collaboration with us!
