{Styled Shoot} A Dazzling Vintage Bedazzled Styled Shoot

Happy New Year! By now we've all rung in the new year, and hope it was a joyous, beautiful occasion for all! Did you go all out for NYE, or did you stay at home, safe and sound? That is how my husband and I spent our evening-at home!

Well we are kicking off the new year on the blog with this dazzling styled shoot that was sent over to us by Every Season Events. This shoot is gorgeous on all accounts! The venue is magestic, the color palette is gorgeous, the bride is stunning, both day and night, and there are so many beautiful, dazzling touches throughout.

Jennifer at Every Season Events shared with us how this shoot came to be, and even has some tips to share! Please enjoy the shoot, and learn about all that went into pulling this gorgeous shoot together, as beautifully captured by Mariana Feely:

A friend photographer, Mariana Feely and I have been dreaming of collaborating on a wedding photo shoot together. As an Event Planner, assisting in designing weddings for the happy couples at their request can be very challenging and fun at the same time. But to create our own style shoot gives me the opportunity to design any way I choose. It is like having my own small wedding all over again! Who wouldn't love to do that! My inspiration was built around two color combinations...bright deep pink and turquoise blue while tying them in with a bedazzled vintage feel. Shot at the rustic historic hotel Arrow Park Lake and Lodge located in Monroe, New York. I was able to team up with a group of vendors from the Hudson Valley Area. The hotel provided the perfect rustic background both inside and out, with a gorgeous lake as well as the luscious green hills and trees.

We wanted our model bride also our hair stylist, Kerri Bova-Instructor at Capri Cosmetology Learning Center, to have a modern roaring twenties feel, with a twist showcasing the bright deep pink. Her dress, a One Shoulder Blouson Full Beaded Gown designed by DB Studio, creates ethereal elegance that meets a modern silhouette. Kerri Bova and Make-Up Artist Rose Vrionides-Boubaris at Freelance MUA created a few separate looks for us throughout the day. Tip: Relaxing your hair and make-up from day to night will create two separate looks for your wedding photos. Try inviting your makeup artist to your wedding...thanking her for doing an amazing job and maybe paying a little extra for her to do a quick make-up change for your evening look. Well worth it if you’re looking to capture some amazing night photos!

The idea behind the indoor dining hall setting was to create an elegant, simple modern table with a beautiful window lake view, while incorporating some of our favorite trends. We love bedazzled ribbon and thought, why not create our bling under each setting. We purchased rolls of bling ribbon wrap, cutting them straight down the middle to get more out of each roll, saving us money! Each bedazzled strip place setting had an Antique Scroll white plate with an embossed pattern and beautiful scalloped edges that were hand-painted bringing a classic look but also a modern practicality.

Tip: Instead of having a favor table, try incorporating your favors in with your table design.

The silky cotton turquoise blue napkins were topped with bright deep pink wood lettering spelling out what every wedding day is filled with. This was a simple DIY project by purchasing Acrylic paint at your local craft store.

Tip: Adding colored glassware really adds something special (but subtle) to a table – try raiding your local thrift stores! You’d be amazed what you can find.

Each place setting was accompanied by a mini indoor/outdoor lantern as a favor for each guest. These lanterns were just the right size for a tea light, covered in detailed rust-resistant ironwork and a sparkling glass gem that tied in with our bedazzled theme. These lanterns also served a second purpose for our night look, adding more light to our setting creating a cozy feel.

The photographer, Mariana Feely chose to use the venues indoor historic architecture as an amazing backdrop. She knew what natural lighting and setups would create the most amazing looks. The lake and grounds had blooming lush greenery while romantic floral colors were scattered throughout the lodge grounds that had our bride beaming with excitement!

A dessert table was set up outdoors, using left over bling ribbon wrapped around a simple rich dark chocolate cake.

Tip: If you have a venue with limited background...try bringing props, like. your favorite small chair, a book your mom use to read to you when you were little, unique table or passed down family pieces to create a special scene that adds a personal touch to your photos.

Dazzling, right?! I love everything about this shoot! The color palette is one of my all time faves, too.  I love how and when the colors are incorporated, and when things are left simply.

I can't tell you which scene I like the better, the natural daylight into the gorgeous venue, or the candlelit setting.  The bride makes a gorgeous bride for either setting, that is for sure.  I also cannot pick which ensemble I like more for her, she wears both looks beautifully!

I appreciate Jennifer's tips throughout, and hope that some of you recently engaged brides can take some benefit from what she had to say.

Our thanks to Every Season Events for sending this shoot our way, and to all the amazing vendors that worked to put this dream of a shoot together.  Beautiful, fantastic job!
