Real Weddings: Emma & Joe's Country Military Wedding

I am in love with this gorgeous couple and their country military wedding! Emma & Joe's love for one another leaps from the images, captured beautifully by Hay Alexandra Photography.  There's something kind of vintage and nostalgic about their wedding portraits. Their country reception at Brandy Hill Farm is the icing on the cake, too!

Notes from the photographer | Emma and Joe met at a bar over shinerbock beer. Emma curiously asked Joe how it tasted and he handed it to her. It was love at first sip :) Joe is in the military and with a last minute need to commit to service, their originally planned date of June 27 quickly needed to be rescheduled for March! With the wedding three months earlier, Emma and her family all worked together and created BEAUTIFUL and meaningful decor. On each table sat a shiner bock and an engraved bottle opener. After their first dance as husband and wife, Emma and Joe explained the beverage and what it symbolized, the first time they met! Everyone toasted to the new couple. It was so unique. Another part of their decor was horseshoes. Horseshoes symbolize good luck on a wedding day. Being that they got married at Brandy Hill Farm I LOVED this country idea. It was awesome!

The whole wedding was filled with sweet moments. Emma and Joe had TWO first dance songs. One emma picked for Joe and one Joe picked for Emma. Emma is also surrounded by women and was the last to tie the knot. Her grandfather had a surprise dance just for him that included each granddaughter dancing with him through a song. There wasn't a dry eye in the house. The whole day was just beautiful and meaningful. I love when wedding days are like that!

So beautiful! I love the color palette of lavender, smoky blue and gray, it works really well. The bridesmaid dresses are really pretty, and I love the necklace with the pop of color there and in the simple sash. Emma's dress is lovely as well, and the choice of the simple necklace is perfect to go with.

Of course the reception has me swooning, being inside a barn, with rustic touches like burlap and that quilt with the words of advice written by the guests! That's a fabulous idea!

Our thanks to Hay Alexandra Photography for sending this our way! Congrats to Emma & Joe, and thank you for your service!
